Artificial Ornamental Flowers Made from Unused Zipper Tapes
(Project since 2017)

Approx. 3 kgs of unused zipper tapes were collected from production department to make artificial flowers. A total of 6 staff from HR, GA and accounting departments took part in this meaningful CSR activity. Training was provided to the people in Tamru (Bangpoo) community to teach them how to make ornamental flowers from these tapes. The purpose of this activity gave them some ideas on how to make use of free time effectively and also think of new career ideas for the future. The folks at that village enjoyed this activity very much.

Making Merit on Visakha Bucha Day
(Project since 2017)

Visakha Bucha Day, May 29, marks one of the most important Buddhist holiday in Thailand. YKK Staff celebrated this day by visiting Wat Srichan Pradit temple and took part in various activities. They spent the morning making merits by offering food to the monks and listening to their blessings. Later in the afternoon, the temple held a "Big Cleaning Day" activity where YKK staff help to clean around the Marble Temple Monastery. Circumambulation was done three times after that; part of the ceremony in respect to the Triple Gem. Besides these activities, drinking water was also donated and distributed to the temple visitors.

Donation for Various Schools on Children's Day
(Project since 2008)

On 10 January this year, Scholarships and children’s gifts such as electric fans and calendars were donated to nearby schools. In 3 hours, the YKK staff involved covered Bangpoo Children's Village, Eieam Suree School, Wat Khotharam School, Bangpoo Sub-Police Station and Hua Lampoo Community.

Mangrove Forest Planting at Bangpoo Recreational Retreat
(Project since 2008)

On 3 May 2018, YKK (Thailand) joins the Mangrove Forest Planting activity held at Bangpoo Recreational Retreat. It is managed by Phramongkutklao hospital, jointly organised with the department of the Army Quartermaster. The purpose of this event is to boost the morales of brave soldiers who are stationed at three of Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces. Many of them became disabled after unfortunate encounters and this campaign serves as a reminder to let others know of their sacrifice and selfless service to the country.

Donation of Water Dispensers to Schools and Temples
(Project since 2008)

YKK (Thailand) donated around 22 good condition water dispensers to nearby temple Wat Srichan Pradit and Samutprakarn Technical College. Having these water dispensers allow temple visitors to get access to clean drinking water conveniently. At the college, they use these machines as study materials.

Tree Planting Day 2018
(Project since 2008)

YKK (Thailand) participated the tree planting activity on June 5, 2018. In an hour, 20 staff planted 18 Cerbera Odollam and 18 Caesalpinia Pulcherrima (L.) Sw. trees at the factory’s vicinity.

Co-hosting Religious Ceremonies for Monks Dedicated to the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej

YKK (Thailand) co-hosted religious ceremonies for monks delivering special prayers dedicated to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej to express gratitude towards the beloved monarch and performed good deeds in his honour. Both top management and associate representatives presented at the royal ceremonies at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace.

Khao Phansa Candles Making Ceremony

One important tradition for Khao Pansa day is “Khao Phansa Candles Making Ceremony” where people bring white and yellow candles to make the Khao Phansa candles. YKK Thailand Joined the Traditional Candle mold during this day at Wat Si Chan Pradit in order to make merit in Buddhism.

Triple Circumambulation Ceremony for Gotama Buddha's Cremation Commemorative Day

This triple circumambulation ceremony event at Wat Asokaram took place eight days after Gotama Buddha's passing. It is a commemorative Day for the cremation. During the event, staff from YKK (Thailand) offered drinking water to monks and people around the temple.

One Tambon, One Product Sale Event
(Project since 2010)

YKK (Thailand) created income opportunities for the neighbourhood communities by holding a sale event in the office during lunch. People brought their homemade OTOP products to sell, which stands for One Tambon, One Product (One Village, One Product). This in turn allow them to let people know what they have to offer on top of earning extra income. Products sold includes dried food, desserts, fruits, eggs etc.

Grease Traps and Plastic Containers Donation to Schools and Communities
(Project since 2008)

Grease traps are installed near a temple near Kho To Fang Nam Khem community to separate the oil and grease that comes from washing dishes and food. The filtered water can then enter the canals without polluting the water. In addition, plastic containers are also donated. They are being used as garbage containers at the temple and in the community.

Tree Planting Day near Bangpu Factory
(Project since 2008)

YKK (Thailand) Factory Bangpu conducted the annual tree planting activity where 29 trees were planted around the factory area. Tree species includes an assortment of D.longissima Schum D.rheedii Seem, Carmona Retusa (Vahl ) Masam Tree.

Donation of Safety Equipment to Community
(Project since 2015)

On 12th August 2015, YKK Thailand donated safety equipment such as CCTV, signage boards and traffic mirrors to the Klong Hua Lam Phu community as the village did not have such equipment. There were about 200 families lived in the community without any safety measures.

Donations for School & Tree Planting (Nong-Sri-Nga school)

Environmental Tree Planting Day

YKK (Thailand) Factory Bangpu conducted their annual tree planting activity on June 3. This year, the company planted 8 Honduras Mahogany trees and D. longissima Schum D. rheedii Seem trees, 2 Terminalia Irorensis Chev 7 cork trees, and 20 Devil's Trees around the factory to improve air quality.

Community Kids' Football Training
(since 2015)

On 5th April 2016, YKK (Thailand) held a ceremony where sports equipment (25 jerseys, 4 balls, 40 small cones, 10 medium cones and 10 big cones) was donated. The OHM sports football club has also been allowed to use YKK Thailand's field and lighting has been provided for free since 5th April 2015. The OHM sports football club was established by the parents of the children in the community around the YKK factory in the Bang Pu district. The OHM sport football club hires coaches who teach the children for free.

YKK ASIA Group Kids Football Clinic 2015

On 29th Oct – 31st Oct 2015, YKK HOLDING ASIA PTE. LTD. (YHA) and YKK (THAILAND) CO., LTD. is back in Bangkok for a second time in the latest edition of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This year, the event will once again continue to collaborate with the Real Madrid Foundation (RMF), for the YKK ASIA GROUP Kids Football Clinic (AKFC).

Supporting Community Kids' Football Training

YKK Thailand supports the local community kids’ football training conducted by OHM Sport Football Club by allowing them to use the field and lighting in the factory area every week at no cost. The football club was established in 2012 by the parents of the children living in the community close to the factory in the Bang Pu district. They provide free football training for the children in Bang Pu district every day.

School Donations & Tree Planting (Nong-Sri-Nga School)

From 3-4 October 2015, YKK Thailand conducted its annual CSR program by donating stationery, computers, desks, study materials to the Nong-Sri-Nga school at Chanthaburi – Rayong. The company also prepared gift sets and ice-cream for the children and planted trees to improve air quality.

Tree Plantation 2014

The World Environment Day motto in this year is "Raise your voice not the sea level". This year, we planted 23 big trees around our building on 5th June 2014. Japanese managers, Thai Managers and staffs together planted the trees and made the better environment in our factory.

YKK Volunteer Spirit

In response to Thailand's great flood crisis and also on the occasion of His Majesty's birthday on 5th December, YKK Thailand conducted a volunteer activity on 4th December 2011 to help the flood-stricken community.

Close to 200 employees of YKK Thailand volunteered to restore Padungthum temple and schools in Ayudhaya as these buildings are the center of the Thai community in Ayudhaya which was hit by severe flood waters up to 3 meters high.

After the completion of all scheduled tasks in one day, the equipment was left in the village in order for villagers to continue restoring their community. YKK Thailand wishes for a fast restoration in Thailand and will continue contributing to the local community.

Environment Day 2011

This year's World Environment Day motto is "Forest: Nature at your service". In accordance with YKK Thailand's management plan to plant trees around our factory area, we conducted tree planting in the Southeastern area on 3rd June. Everyone enjoyed this event very much as they gave their best involvement to cooperate and make our factory greener. In response to improving quality and saving energy, we also conducted the QC+5S Patrol+Energy activity. This is an activity in which the management comes together and patrols the work area to assess performance quality and area tidiness to promote energy conservation. We started this activity in July and have since conducted it every month. Everyone was motivated to maintain quality, tidiness and conserve energy, as we award a trophy to the work section with the highest score every month. The section that has won this trophy the most will eventually keep the trophy, together with a certificate and a big prize.

YKK Kids Football Clinic 2011

The 'Just for Kicks' YKK Kids Football Clinic 2011, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand and Colombo, Sri Lanka over the course of two weekends from 16th to 26th June, was a resounding success. Children aged between 10 to 17 years old and local coaches participated in the project.

School Visiting during Company Trip 2010

YKK Thailand visited Kaoyaichoom School during their company's trip to Rayong in 2010. The school consists of only 150 primary students. To provide aid in their education, YKK Thailand gave computers, projectors and lightings (lamps and ballads) to the school, and planted trees in the school together with the teachers and children to help reduce global warming.

School Visiting during Company Trip

In 2009, YKK Thailand started a social responsibility program in conjunction with the Company Trip in Thailand that will send them on annual visits to schools that lack resources to provide aid. In the inaugural effort, YKK Thailand lent a helping hand to a primary school in Chiangmai by donating learning materials and equipment. Children, teachers and staff also got together to plant trees to increase forest territory, reduce global warming and usher in prosperity by improving land fertility.
