Due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, our regional flagship CSR event, ‘YKK Kids Football Clinic’ was unable to take place. The ‘YKK Care Packs’ distribution was thus created and carried out as an alternative to continue supporting the children as many were suffering from mental health challenges due to school closures and lifestyle changes caused by the pandemic.
These ‘YKK Care Packs’ contain various safety equipment like masks, hand sanitisers, etc. and educational materials such as stationery and a customised YKK activity booklet, containing colourful COVID-19 related information, to help the children feel safe and overcome their fears.

In addition, sporting equipment were also distributed to their schools or homes to encourage them to embrace a healthy lifestyle to battle the pandemic.
Indonesia and Bangladesh were chosen for this initiative since the pandemic has had a substantial impact on both countries. Distributions in Indonesia have been completed in January, whereas in Bangladesh, all items have been delivered to the Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA), who will then distribute to the schools that they operate.
