Bangkok, Thailand; October 29th, 2015: YKK HOLDING ASIA PTE. LTD. (YHA) and YKK (THAILAND) CO., LTD. is back in Bangkok for a second time in the latest edition of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This year, the event will once again continue to collaborate with the Real Madrid Foundation (RMF), for the YKK ASIA GROUP Kids Football Clinic (AKFC).
The YKK AKFC corporate social responsibility project is into its 9th year. This meaningful event has been held across countries like Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. YKK focuses on providing an enjoyable and memorable experience for underprivileged children through the game of football. The success of the event throughout the years has seen thousands of underprivileged children benefit from this once in a lifetime experience to get up close with the renowned Spanish football coaches of the Real Madrid Foundation.
YKK ASIA GROUP has always strived to be a contributing member of society and YHA has made this CSR program as an annual event. Sharing his thoughts on this, Mr. Kosuke Miimi – President and CEO, YHA commented “This is an integral program that not only values the children, but the community. This event gives opportunities to those who normally have a lesser chance at sports and brings the community together to celebrate the love of football.”
The three-day clinic will be held in between October 29th to the 31st in Bangkok at the Super Kick football facility. Close to 280 kids and 38 Thailand coaches from the country will hone their skills at this camp.
Real Madrid Foundation coaches Mr. Pablo Gomez Revenga, Mr. Javier Garcia Torres and Mr. Enrique Pascual Sanchez will be the invited line up to share the club’s training methodology and techniques with the local Thai coaches. These coaches are selected from the local associations and federations. Once the coaches are trained, they will be given a hands-on experience and assist the Real Madrid Foundation coaches to conduct the four kids’ clinic sessions. The majority of the participating kids are from orphanages or underprivileged homes.
Having run clinics for over a decade, the Real Madrid Foundation’s coaching team has brought their world-class techniques to millions of children around the world who are passionate for football. Language and cultural differences are no barriers for the coaches as football is a global language. The smiles on the children’s faces are the most rewarding result from their coaching activities.
Real Madrid Foundation’s Technical Management Clinics and International Technical Schools Director, Mr. Pablo Gomez Revenga commented, “We have been part of this project since 2012 and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the warm Asian hospitality. We look forward to bringing the Real Madrid style of football to the children of Thailand”.
With the support from the Football Association of Thailand, the guest VIP speaker at the Press Conference will be Colonel Worrawuth Thongsringam, General Secretary of Football Association of Thailand. Mr. Shinji Kawaguchi, Managing Director of YKK THAILAND and Mr. Alson Ng, Regional Marketing Manager, YKK ASIA GROUP & Brand Strategy in YHA will both complete the speakers’ panel together with Mr. Pablo Gomez Revenga, Real Madrid Foundation’s Technical Management Clinics and International Technical Schools Director. The official Press Conference will be held on the 29th of Oct at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. The venue selected for this year’s clinics will be held at the Super Kick football facility.
Each participant in the clinic receives a full set of YKK/Real Madrid Foundation kit (inclusive of jersey, shorts and socks), football boots and a certificate of participation. Furthermore, YKK will donate all the footballs and training equipment from the event to the participant communities. This will provide continuity of YKK ASIA GROUP CSR program and encourage these passionate children to chase their dreams and play football for years to come.
