PAUD stands for Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini, otherwise, Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED). This project initiated by the Ministry of National Education aim to ensure children from underprivileged background have access to early childhood education. That way, these children will be better prepared for school, enhancing their overall learning journey. It is initiated in 6,000 poor communities and reaches more than 700,000 children.
The success of PAUD is acknowledged by primary school teachers who states that these children are better able to cope with school, have heightened sense of self-confidence and are accustomed to interactions. In order to improve the welfare of children in PAUD, YKK Indonesia helps to improve the overall classroom experience by donating infrastructure such as classroom separator, chairs and main gate.
