On 17 December 2022, YKK Malaysia joined hands with I-Stay Hostel, which houses foreign workers working in YKK Malaysia, for a Gotong Royong activity.
Gotong Royong is a traditional concept of community cooperation or mutual assistance. It is a way for people to come together and work towards a common goal, such as cleaning up a neighbourhood, maintaining a community garden, or helping a neighbour in need. Gotong Royong is also promoted by the Malaysian government to encourage community engagement and social cohesion.
The Gotong Royong activity was organised with aims to foster the spirit of maintaining a healthy, clean environment, as well as to increase responsibility and to prioritise the nurturing of plants.
Following YKK’s goals of Sustainability 2050, the Gotong Royong activity is one of the ways we can practice conserving and preserving the environment.
